A new Impetus!
With the launch of (OFF)ICIELLE, FIAC’s own off in Paris, October 2014.
After its 40th Anniversary and the most successful year in its history, FIAC is growing and going international. It will open FIAC LA in Los Angeles in April 2015.
FIAC LA will take place at the same time as PARIS PHOTO LA.
The amazing success of PARIS PHOTO LA in 2013 (next edition: April 24th to 27th, 2014)
demonstrates the enormous cultural appetite in Los Angeles—a city already astonishly rich in museums, galleries, art schools, artists, collectors and a very broad audience. Jill Silverman Van Coenegrachts will serve as Director of FIAC LA in close collaboration with
Jennifer Flay.
Silverman Van Coenegrachts has had a long and highly successful career as a gallerist for the past three decades in New York, London and Paris, most recently as partner to Thaddaeus Ropac, Paris (2005-2012) and as managing director of Lisson Gallery, London (1995-2005). She directed John Gibson Gallery, New York for ten years and then worked with Barbara Mathes as a director, before setting up on Madison Avenue as a private dealer (1990-1995).
As part of the growth plan for both of these two fairs in LA, and to assist in exploring other
opportunities, Robert Fitzpatrick has been named Director of Development, North America.
Fitzpatrick, former President of CalArts (California Institute of the Arts) and Director of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Art Festival and its successor the Los Angeles Festival has a deep knowledge and passion for this amazing city as well as of Paris and its institutions, having served as the first President of EuroDisney, responsible for building and opening Paris Disneyland in 1992. Most recently he served as Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago.
